ASSEMBLY
UNIT SHOULD ONLY BE ASSEMBLED BY AN ADULT.
1.
Charge your boat’s battery by connecting the Ni-MH rechargeable
battery (6) to A/C Adaptor (5) and plug into a 110 volt wall outlet.
2.
3.
Allow battery to charge for a full 8 hours before first use.
Remove red cap by twisting a ¼ turn. Insert 9-volt Battery (4) into
Remote Control (2). Replace red cap by twisting a ¼ turn.
4.
5.
Carefully screw the telescoping antenna into hole on the top of the
remote control.
Feed antenna wire on boat through Clear Plastic Sleeve (7) and
loosely knot at the end. Clear Plastic Sleeve (7) with antenna wire
must be in the upright position to work properly.
6.
Once fully charged, unclip battery (6) from A/C Adaptor (5) and clip
to the battery clip located under the back seat of the boat. Insert
rechargeable battery (6), replace cover and secure.
7.
8.
9.
Turn remote control on at the switch. Turn the boat on with the
button located on the bow and extend the remote’s antenna.
Test the boat with the propeller’s pointed away from you, and other
people, before placing in water.
Inside the accessory packet you will find 2 pre-assembled fishing
lines (3). Clip end of line to eyelet located at the rear of the boat.
10. Always have adult supervision while baiting your hook. Once hook
is baited, lower your boat into the water using the Retrieving Hook
(8) and steer your boat towards the fish.
4

11. Once you see your bobber go under, steer the AVIVA Fishin’ Buddy
back to the operator. Once it’s within reaching distance, hook the
Retrieving Hook (8) under the bar and lift to land the fish.
NOTE: Do not allow Antenna to touch the water. This will cause the unit
to malfunction.
BATTERY INFORMATION
1.
The AC Adaptor (5) supplied with this product is only designed to
charge the included NiMH rechargeable battery (6). Do NOT use
this AC Adaptor (5) for other purposes except to charge the
included NiMH battery (6).
2.
The Rechargeable AA Battery Holder (9) is included to allow the
consumer the option of using high capacity, rechargeable AA
batteries ONLY. Do not use disposable alkaline batteries. We
recommend the use of 1600mA or larger AA batteries for best
performance and longest run time. Always use the same current
capacity in all 8 batteries placed in the rechargeable battery holder
(9) - do not mix capacities (i.e.: don't use 2000mA and 1600mA
together). Do NOT use the included AC Adaptor (5) to charge
batteries while in this holder.
3.
The transmitter requires a separate, 9V battery for operation. Any
9V battery will function well in the transmitter, including disposable
alkaline batteries. It is recommended that the batteries be
disconnected from the boat, and removed from the transmitter
when not in use.
4.
5.
6.
This product uses 2 powerful motors to provide enough thrust for
fishing. During periods of continuous operation (more than 1 or 2
minutes of continuous power), the batteries can become warm.
This is normal, and does not indicate a malfunction of the product.
When the batteries are depleted to the point they need to be
charged, allow the rechargeable battery (6) to cool first before
being removed from the boat and charged. Warm or hot batteries
should always be allowed to cool before recharging.
Always dispose of used batteries properly. Never dispose of
batteries of any kind in fire. See local and state regulations for
disposal of NiMH batteries.

USING YOUR AVIVA FISHIN’ BUDDY
1.
Remote controlled toys use radio frequencies to communicate
between remote and boat. In order for your AVIVA Fishin’ Buddy to
work properly, make sure you are approximately 300 feet away from
other toys using radio frequencies, high tension wires, large
buildings and CB radios. Especially when using 2 units at one time.
2.
3.
Always make sure unit is fully charged before use.
Should boat fail, remove the battery and turn the nose straight up to
allow water to drain from the inside. Never attempt to use until you
are certain that the inside is free of moisture.
4.
5.
6.
7.
Always put your controller down in a secure, dry place when
retrieving the boat or fish from the water.
AVIVA Fishin’ Buddy is for hobby type use only. Do not attempt to
use in a tournament type environment.
Always stay clear of people, full-sized boats, stationary objects and
wildlife.
Watch out for other fishing lines that may become tangled in the
propeller.
8.
9.
Operate only in no current - low wake – low wind conditions only
Always check local fishing regulations before use. Some states and
areas may not allow use of a remote controlled boat for fishing.
Check to determine if fishing license's are needed.
10. Do not allow unit to move more than 50 feet away from operator.
You could loose communication with the remote.
11. Battery will wear out if motor is used continuously for more than 5
minutes at a time.
12. Discontinue use if batteries feel hot (warm is normal).
13. Discontinue use if motor stops working properly.
14. Always operate boat away from people and pets as hair, fingers,
clothing, jewelry and other items could become tangled in, damaged
by, or injured by propeller or other moving parts.
15. Always keep hair, fingers, clothing, jewelry and other items clear of
the propellers' at all times. When not using the boat, turn off the
power to the boat and remove the battery.
16. Keep fishing accessories away from children under 8 years of age.
These accessories include sharp fishing hooks, which can cause
puncture wounds or lacerations. Always have adults prepare fishing
hooks for use.
6

17. Never use a larger fishing hook than the hooks supplied with this
product. Small hooks are designed to limit the size of the fish
caught with this product. Using larger hooks could potentially catch
too large a fish, resulting in loss of this product and injury/death to
the larger fish.
18. Never allow the antenna to enter the water.
19. Do not use the transmitter's antenna or the retrieving hook (8) as a
fishing pole. These items are not intended for this purpose.
20. If engine stalls, battery wears out, or boat can not be retrieved using
the retrieving hook (8), use extreme care and have an adult retrieve
boat.
